Social Activities at Cedar Court Care Centre
At Cedar Court we strive to promote the independence of each individual service user and recognise the importance and therapeutic benefit of social activities. We offer all service users a full programme of varied activities specifically aimed at the needs of each client group provided by a dedicated member of staff. Activities such as visits by local concert parties, daily exercises, crafts, competitions, fayres, social events and outings are particularly enjoyed by our older service users.
Our older service users with dementia can enjoy a vast variety of social activities specifically concentrating on their strengths and memories of times past such as reminiscence parties. There are also opportunities for purposeful activity such as washing up, preparing snacks or being happily busy tending to plants in the garden.

Hobbies

Some of Our Gardening Facilities
Residents meetings, both formal and informal, are held regularly to discuss any issues, suggestions or comments about the home, its operation and the programme of hobbies and social activities available to its residents.
Gardens
Cedar Court has 2 separate enclosed gardens.
Both gardens can be accessed via the lounge-dinning rooms on the relative units. These gardens will provide an exposure to natural light, a place for familiar activities such as gardening and a place for exercise which is vital for people who enjoy walking. It is also somewhere to be quiet and reflective. We have developed a sensory garden that provides a therapeutic and safe place which helps to improve quality of life and health for those with dementia related illness.
Both Gardens are landscaped and there are sheltered areas to provide cover from inclement weather.
BBQ areas give service users the opportunity to meet, socialise and be entertained in the summer months. Both gardens are full accessible to wheelchair users.
Religious Needs
Visiting clergy from all denominations also attend to the social and spiritual needs of our residents.
