Specialist Facilities
Snoezelen Room

Some of the facilities available in the Snoezelen Room
The snoezelen environment originated from Holland and has been used to provide therapy within a multi-sensory environment. A specially equipped snoezelen room designed by Rompa is situated in the first floor foyer. The key features in this room are the range of equipment designed to stimulate sight, hearing, touch, smell and movement. These examples have been incorporated by providing bubble tubes and optic fibres for visual stimulation, music for hearing and textured fabrics and vibrating tubes for touch. The use of aromatherapy will stimulate smell and provide for a calming or invigorating experience depending on service user need.
This room can be used under supervision of trained staff by any resident group and will provide a place to unwind or awaken the senses.
Physiotherapy Room
This room will give residents the choice and the facility to exercise. Residents will be under the direct supervision of trained staff or visiting physiotherapists. This room will also provide a facility to be used by other visiting healthcare professionals such as chiropodist, speech and language therapists, dentists and opticians.
